Founder Impressions Form: Account Executive, Beam Notes

Founder Noise Assessment input. Three-candidate shortlist.

Capture your gut read systematically, after the live role-play with each candidate. We compare your read to our methodology read on every dimension; the divergence is the most informative signal of the engagement. Return it to Spine once complete.

Complete this form once per candidate, ideally within 24 hours of meeting them. The same form is used by every hiring manager in both markets, which is what makes a UK score and a US score comparable. Do not wait until you have met all three; the comparison effect distorts the reading.

How this is used

Your gut score per dimension (5-point scale, 1 = below role bar, 5 = exceeds role bar) feeds the Founder Noise Assessment (FNA). We calculate the gap between your read and ours per dimension. Three failure modes we are testing for:

  1. Gut-divergence (high signal). You and we disagree by more than one point on a load-bearing dimension. We name it explicitly in the pre-hire memo.
  2. Founder oversell (calibration risk). You score the candidate higher than the methodology read, especially on Commercial Awareness or Relationship Building, the two dimensions a sales interview flatters most. Surfaces founder enthusiasm bias.
  3. Founder undersell (calibration risk). You score lower than the methodology read. Often surfaces interview-presentation effects (candidate undersells in interview).

These are calibration markers, not judgments; they tighten the read on commit.

Cross-shortlist question

If you had to commit today, with no further interviews and no further information from us, who would you hire, and why? (One paragraph; we score the gap between this answer and our recommendation.)
